Dimensions and adjustment

We do not publish a centimetre height range or seat-width figure on this site. Adjustment is qualitative: sit evenly on both pads, pull the side lever, and stop when the hips sit above the knees and both feet are flat. Twin-wheel casters roll on hard floors more readily than on thick carpet.

The seat can tilt with your movement. The side knob sets how freely that happens. It should feel planted once the column taper is seated, not loose. What is in the box

One chair, packed for assembly. Parts match the photographs. No colour options, no backrest, no foot ring unless you add the separate armrest pair in Tailor your saddle, which is packed as an extra, not drawn onto the photos.

Fitting your desk

Saddle sitting is higher than a conventional office seat. Set the desk first, then the gas lift. Keep another chair nearby for the first fortnight if you want shorter saddle sessions.

Raise the desk so elbows meet the keyboard without hiking the shoulders. Sit-stand and already-high benches work. A dining-height desk usually does not. Set the lever so hips sit above the knees and feet stay flat. Recheck after you have sat for a stretch. People often raise the seat once the desk is right. Share the load across the two wings. Keep the centre gap clear. Shift one foot forward when you want a new pose. There is no foot ring to rest a heel on.

Care

Wipe the padded wings and bronze leather or leatherette side panels with a slightly damp cloth. Do not soak the foam. Pick grit out of the twin-wheel casters when they drag. Keep the black gas-lift column clean and dry. Do not oil it. Indoor adult desk use only. Do not stand on the seat or add a backrest.

Who it suits, restated

Sit-stand desks: the usual pairing. Raise the desk so the keyboard meets the elbows, then set the gas lift so hips sit above the knees. Drafting and lab benches: high surfaces already sit closer to saddle height. Roll in, set the lever, keep both feet on the floor. Studio and craft tables: raised cutting, layout, or finishing tables. The two-part seat stays compact so you can lean toward the work without a backrest in the way. Home offices: a spare room or a desk in the corner. You need floor space for the five-star base and a desk that can sit high enough.

For adult desk work in Australian homes and small workrooms where the surface can be raised. Not a lounge chair and not a task chair with a backrest. If you have a health condition, ask your health professional first.

Measure the floor under the desk before you order, not only the height of the work surface. The Aperture sits on a compact five-star base. It needs a clear disc of hard floor or low-pile carpet so the twin-wheel casters can roll in and out without clipping a bin, a heater, or a cable tray. A deep sheepskin, a thick rug, or a tangle of power leads under the wheels will make the chair feel stuck. Pull the cables back. Leave a path to stand and walk to the kettle.

The two pads are foam under a black covering. The bronze sides are leather or leatherette, as photographed. Both wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use saddle soap, kitchen spray, citrus cleaner, or solvent. Do not park a hot mug on the wing. If a drink lands on the foam, blot it and let the pad dry off the floor, out of direct sun. Do not soak the foam and do not put the seat in a washing machine.

The column is a sealed black gas lift. Dust it. Do not oil it. Do not wrap it in tape or a sleeve. The seat holds on a friction taper. After you assemble from the leaflet, sit once so the taper seats. If the seat still turns independently of the base, lift it, reseat it, and sit again. Do not add glue. The side lever is the only height control. There is no numbered collar on this SKU, and this site does not publish a centimetre range.
